You Know What I Am Talking About :)

“Do it tomorrow,” Pharaoh said. “All right,” Moses replied, “it will be as you have said. Then you will know that there is no one like the LORD our God.

Exodus 8:10 (NLT)

I grew up in an environment where I only did things for God, served Him, honored His traditions, and obeyed, without question. I grew up pursuing a lifelong courtship; establishing a relationship with God. When I’m done in this world serving Him, He gets to decide whether I will go in Heaven or Hell.

Doesn’t seem like a relationship does it. Upon realizing that I had no actual relationship with God, I realized that I constantly worked, and I/we worked hard to establish a relationship with Christ. Although we have obeyed, it seems that it is never enough.  I think a lot of people are like me, who didn’t have a relationship as well. I or we didn’t know Him.

Inevitably, it came to a point where everything that I believed crumbled. All of a sudden, I just stopped caring about Heaven. I subscribed to self-help beliefs. I customized God for my own needs. I constantly conceived and tweaked the concept of the perfect God for me. And, this just pointed me to the direction where everything spiraled down. At the end of it all, the result was the same. God felt distant from me.

However, God will establish and restore what was lost. In His perfect time, our eyes will be opened. Our hearts will be ready. And, our past beliefs set aside. When He call us, we will know it is Him. We begin a new relationship with Him, a more personal and real relationship. We will experience first hand who the Lord our God, Jesus Christ [who gave His life for us that we may experience true salvation] truly is. Remember that time when we were undeniably called by Him…

Let us keep Christ in the center of our lives. Let us be strong and persistent since we know that we live with and for a God who truly know us. We are His children, and He is our Father. Let us not forget to talk to Him and update Him how we are doing. Pray.

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
