A Spiritual Gift is Given to Each of us so We Can Help Each Other.

“Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.” Exodus 23:25-26 (NIV)

I have been watching a series of documentaries made by Darren Wilson. I saw Finger of God, Furious Love, and Father of Lights. These are a Christian documentary, which provides a different glimpse on the testimonies of the faithful. I saw Christians healing people left and right, channeling God’s amazing power. I saw college students praying for people, providing comfort for strangers. I saw the lies of segregation destroyed as believers prayed and healed even those who do not believe. I saw Christians respond in love to others, the way Christ said in His commandment. “Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31 (NLT)

It was inspiring. I saw people with no fear or hesitation praying for strangers, showing them love, laying hands on them as they ask God for peace in their hearts, and inner and physical healing. I was convicted by it. I realized that I have to get out of my comfort zone, and be a comfort to others. One way for others to experience God’s love is when His people show others what love is all about. Not by means of debate (proving that we are the right belief) but an actual experience of Christ’s love, which we can bless others with. We are blessed by the spirit with gifts, and through Christ nothing is impossible. Amen!

I remember I saw the documentaries with my father who is unable to move his left side due to a stroke. I saw from the documentaries that God reveals Himself through physical healing, through actual miracles. I didn’t know how to receive it. It felt weird. Is it really possible? And that’s where I realized that this world is a sinful world, where the enemy has successfully spread his lies. We were made to believe that miracles were rare and only a few people are blessed with its power. Even to a strong believer, such amazing signs and wonders, miracles and healing, can lead a believer to skepticism. But Christ revealed that He is supernatural, that He is impossible. God’s love is greater in so many ways as compared to the love we humans conceived.

So, we prayed for our dad. We heard him say a “yes” and an “amen”, affirming our prayers, believing that he will be healed. As I was praying for him, I heard the enemy saying “is it really possible?” I just reminded myself that God is the great I AM. I AM WHO I AM. He will do so as He pleases. And I believe that God loves my dad that He will heal Him in whatever way, no matter what. So, I felt more confident in my prayer for God’s response doesn’t rely on my situation. He has dominion over us, and He chooses to love us first with nothing in return. “We love each other because he loved us first”. 1 John 4:19 (NLT) And by faith, we claim God’s restoration and love for our father.

We are all worshippers of Christ. And, when we place our faith in Him, to love Him and declare that He is Lord of All, we are blessed by the Father to bless others around us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NLT) Because of our love for Him, we understand and learn how to love others. Through worship, we grow deeper in our relationship with Him, and we see how much He has been blessing us continuously. We are living miracles of Christ. We have been saved from a life devoid of the one true God. We imprisoned ourselves, and deprived ourselves of His love for too long. But He never stopped pursuing us. He loved us more so that we can love Him more. He loved us first. When we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, we accepted the gift of God, the gift to live life to the fullest. We accepted the supernatural, the unbelievable, the impossible, the amazing wonders and deeds of our Great God. Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.” Psalms 100:3 (NLT)

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a]overflows).”  John 10:10 (AMP)
